This painting is inspired by joy. Just pure plain giddy joy! I sat down to make these mini animal paintings and I wanted them to beam with rich bright colors and be whimsical and fun! Dragonflies are pretty incredible! They have lived for over 300 million years, and while their ancestors had wingspans up to 2.5 feet, modern dragonflies are smaller but can fly up to 35 mph and hover in place.
